Saranti, one of the most picturesque villages of Cyprus, located to the North of Madari, in the geographical region of Pitsilia valley, Troodos Mountains. Steep mountainsides, valleys covered with wild natural vegetation and hazels "Compose" the unique beauty of the village.It is one of the highest villages built at an average altitude of 1060 meters. In particular, the altitude from 700 meters to the North of the village is growing near the residential nucleus in 1060 meters and verges on the southern border of 1612, the peak "Brothers".
The name of the village, according to the Great Cyprus Encyclopaedia, originated from the surname of the first land owner in the area that was "Sarantis". Another version is link between the name of the village with the erection of the Church of Panagia tou Araka located in the neighbouring village of Lagoudera. Specifically, during the construction of the Church worked forty (Saranta) craftsmen who resided in what is now the village, and who, according to this version, was the occasion to name the village Saranti. The main Church of the village is theobne of Saint's Constantine and Helen Architecturally belongs to the category of single-room churches, a type that exists in the Troodos area.
